Change of staff at FERI: Dr. Marcel V. Lähn becomes new Chief Investment Officer

Bad Homburg, 5/2/2023
by FERI
  • Change of department on the Management Board of the Bad Homburg-based multi-asset investment house
  • Dr. Marcel V. Lähn is the new head of investment responsible for the entire FERI investment strategy
  • Dr. Heinz-Werner Rapp remains on the Management Board of FERI AG, responsible for sustainability and the FERI Cognitive Finance Institute

Dr. Marcel V. Lähn has been the new Chief Investment Officer (CIO) of the FERI Group since May 1, 2023. He succeeds Dr. Heinz-Werner Rapp, who has held this position since 2006 and will continue to be responsible as a member of the Management Board until the end of his contract term (November 30, 2023).

The change of staff will be accompanied by a new allocation of responsibilities on the FERI Board as of May 1, 2023: Dr. Marcel V. Lähn will be responsible for Investment Strategy, Asset Allocation, Investment Process, Investment Research and Investment Management. Dr. Heinz-Werner Rapp will take over the Investment Controlling department and will continue to be responsible for Sustainable Finance as well as the management of the FERI Cognitive Finance Institute, which he founded. He will continue to lead this institute beyond November 30, 2023.

Dr. Marcel V. Lähn has been a member of the Management Board at FERI for one year. Previously, the doctor of economics worked as Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer for BDT & Company International LLP in Frankfurt am Main. Prior to that, he was Chief Investment Officer of BHF-BANK AG and headed the bank's private banking operations as a Generalbevollmächtigter. "I am very pleased to now be able to assume full responsibility for FERI's proven investment processes and to further develop portfolio strategies with a focus on multi-asset investments for our clients," says Dr. Marcel V. Lähn. In the future, he said, special attention will be paid to an even broader integration of alternative assets and future themes into FERI portfolios.

"Dr. Marcel Lähn brings a lot of experience and a global network to the central position of Chief Investment Officer. I am convinced that he will continuously continue FERI's successes in investment management and at the same time set innovative accents in portfolio design and strategic orientation," says Dr. Uwe Schroeder-Wildberg, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of FERI AG and Chief Executive Officer of MLP SE. "I would like to expressly thank Dr. Heinz-Werner Rapp, under whose responsibility as CIO FERI has positioned itself very well and developed successfully over the past 17 years. And I am delighted that he will continue to support the investment-related divisions of the FERI Group with his extensive market experience."
