FERI AG is stepping up its commitment to shaping a sustainable future and promoting innovation. Since October 1, 2025, the multi-asset manager has been an official partner of Futury, one of Germany's ten national startup factories. Through this cooperation, FERI and Futury are jointly strengthening the connection between the capital market, science, and the startup scene in the Rhine-Main region—one of Europe's most dynamic innovation regions.
Futury stands for a new start-up dynamic in Germany. As a start-up factory, Futury's goal is to establish Germany as a leading location for knowledge-based start-ups from the Rhine-Main region. The focus is on systematically connecting research, entrepreneurship, and capital in order to translate scientific excellence into marketable business models. By 2030, around 1,000 new startups are expected to be created – supported by a professionally networked ecosystem of universities, companies, investors, and political actors.
With its involvement in Futury, FERI is expanding its long-term strategy of combining responsibility and capital for sustainable value creation. “Futury combines entrepreneurship, science, and social responsibility in an exemplary manner,” says Marcel Renné, CEO of FERI AG. “Enabling the next generation of innovators to achieve successful economic development with our expertise and support is very important to us,” says Renné.
Futury sees itself as a bridge builder between companies, capital, and innovation. The goal is to bring together knowledge-based startups and market-relevant research results with suitable industry players, thereby building the next generation of knowledge-based companies in Germany through piloting and mentoring.
“With FERI, we are gaining a partner who shares our vision of combining innovation, sustainability, and economic foresight,” says Charlie Müller, Founder & Managing Director of Futury. "We are convinced that startups are gaining importance as an asset class in their own right—not only as a source of returns, but also as a strategic lever for long-term transformation. Our aim is to channel capital specifically to where knowledge, entrepreneurship, and social added value come together.“ Melissa Ott, Managing Director of Futury, adds: ”Germany needs a new culture of innovation that more closely integrates research, talent, and capital. As a startup factory, we are creating the structures for this – with a professional, networked, and growth-oriented ecosystem. The partnership with FERI is a decisive step toward making this ambition visible both nationally and internationally."
Marcel Renné and Charlie Müller will discuss how politics can support this effort together with Christian Wulff following his lecture “When I think of Germany: Democracy, peace, Europe, and competitiveness in danger” as part of FERI Investors Day on November 12, 2025, in Frankfurt am Main (for more information, visit: https://connect.feri.de/ID/).
Through its cooperation with Futury, FERI is expanding its social engagement to include entrepreneurship and innovation development. This ideally complements its existing involvement with the student organization Enactus Germany, through which FERI promotes student innovation projects in the field of sustainability. As part of the FERI4Education initiative launched in 2022, FERI also initiates and organizes projects for high-quality education and sustainable development at local schools – including sustainability as a (professional) opportunity for the future and democracy education.
